Reehab holds an MA in Counseling Psychology and is a certified practitioner with the International Association of Islamic Psychology (IAIP). She is a certified birth worker with TNPS, which focuses on Traditional and Indigenous postpartum Moroccan Medicine, and is a certified INNATE Post Partum Care Provider, informing her work on perinatal and postnatal maternal mental health and foundational physiologic design. Reehab has studied under the tutelage of traditional Islamic scholars for over 15 years and is an instructor/facilitator on the Cambridge Muslim College’s (CMC) practitioner training program, Principles of Islamic Psychology in Practice (PIPP). She has been offering counseling services in person and online for over 8 years.
Reehab’s main methodology is the Islamic Psychology framework, with a focus on holistic health based on the human beings’ physiologic design. Through fostering an understanding of holistic well-being that encompasses both physical, spiritual and mental health, she draws upon her training in traditional Islamic sciences and years of practice and observation and strives to provide a healing space that is truly tailored to each individual’s needs. At the heart of her approach is the concept of suhba, or healing through companionship. This involves cultivating a deeper connection with oneself, one’s environment, and one’s community. Therapeutic techniques such as reframing, root cause exploration, and somatic work within the session only become fully effective when understood within a framework that recognizes the interconnected nature of our existence – we are as much a part of our communities as our communities are a part of us. Through this understanding, the therapeutic session become a transformative journey of comprehensive well-being, grounded in faith and fostering a sense of rootedness.
