Heartful Connections
A contemplative course that explores relationships as a sacred path to Allah—guiding you from disconnection to Divine connection through the heart, the self, and the other.
Saman Hussain holds an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Religion and Foreign Affairs from University of Virginia. She is a professional certified coach (PCC), facilitator, mediator and counselor certified with the IAIP. She is trained in conflict coaching, various forms of group facilitation including process work and deep democracy, relationship systems, and provides trauma-informed coaching with TORCH, a trauma consulting collective. She was the Founding Director of an ICF coach training program and serves as a Mentor Coach to those seeking ICF accreditation. Saman has studied under the tutelage of traditional Islamic scholars for over 17 years and is an instructor/facilitator on the Cambridge Muslim College’s (CMC) practitioner training program, Principles of Islamic Psychology in Practice (PIPP). She has been offering her consultation services to individuals and groups for over 13 years.
Saman’s approach to working with clients is experiential, intuitive and heart-centered. She incorporates Islamic meditation practices, somatic awareness, movement, theater and storytelling to invite depth, creativity and courage in her work with clients. Her style is compassionate and curious, with a firm belief in each client’s ability to reclaim their primordial wholeness. Saman helps clients to identify emotional, cognitive and spiritual blocks that can create “stuckness” and tension, and guides them toward new, practical, and heartful ways of being. She is skilled in working with men, women and young adults in individual counseling and coaching. In addition to one-to-one work, she specializes in and has a deep passion for working with groups and group process. She offers Islamically oriented group coaching and tailored retreats to facilitate client healing within the power of the collective. Saman believes that healing - and magic - happens in heart-centered community and relational work.
